9/26 Vaccination and Vacillation

Another quiet(ish) day, but this one included an economics experiment worth $25 dollars, a hep-A booster shot, and the first of the last pilgrimages for wine-- one more trip should keep me steady until Marco arrives, and perhaps one or two more after that is all I will need to see me through to going home. I read a bit more, enjoying my happy-fun-alone time, and wrote some too, passing up my assignments for a new story I'm rather attracted too tentatively titled "Lynchpin". The parents got back from Tassieland late in the evening and in the morning we bounce out to Kangaroo Island for a last couple days of family sight-seeing. Then they are gone, and it's back to blessed silence for me... for a little while.

Drink Count: 4

P.S. Holy crap, I almost forgot to report! Upon returning from Cairns I had a package waiting, which was the new edition of Wet Ink featuring a version of Banana Trees, and a $100 check! For writing words! And that story is far from the best I can do. It wasn't the first, so it's not quite as exciting, but publication is publication, and money is money, and this is the biggest paycheck yet, and I couldn't be happier. Pictures will come when they come. Wa-hoo!

P.P.S. New review over at Your Next Favorite Book. Hopefully Liz doesn't step all over my shit and we can time it so content is more regular than two reviews in two days followed by a two week break. Fuck it, I'll just read short books from now on to inject a little literary excitement into the blogosphere.
