The worst part about traveling: the run-up to traveling. As soon as I get in that taxi in 33 hours, it'll be a non-stop experience (most of it awesome) but the run-up is killer. Between getting loose ends wrapped up (room cleaned, food eaten, library books returned, saying goodbyes, etc.), getting packed (and repacking, and repacking, and making lists, and choosing pens and books, and buying all the little soaps, batteries, plastic bags, Panadol, and getting them compacted into carry-on item), and the constant questioning (what are you doing over the break? Really? Aren't you excited? Won't that be fun? Are you afraid? and on and on and on) the last week or two before traveling is just sucky, and completely robs one of the ability to do much besides focus on that. So, little writing. Very little. But I did go to a poetry reading, and I did fall in super momentarily love with an Australian poet who looked just like Alli. I got all nervous that she might be looking at me and I was afraid to go thank her for reading, which I try to do for people who don't totally suck. That was pretty wacky times.
Other things: turned in my semesterly assignments (yes!), entered the Wirra Wirra Vineyard Short Story Contest (super-yes!), and scored a decent sized 'plastic resealable bag' (not Ziploc-- brand-name recognition is the devil) for the massive bottle of contact solution for Susan (ultra-yes!). Holy shit I need some sleep. Wine before the reading, wine at the reading, water and Doxycycline back home, and reading, and wishing Kait a safe drive home.
Drink Count: 6
No pictures tonight-- I'll post a whole bunch of random shit tomorrow to keep some form of entertainment (if this can be so called) on this site.

what exactly do you need doxycycline (?) for?
And I totally agree - the run up to travel is hellish and ridiculous. I had an especially hard time because I just hated the idea that I was only bringing 4 pairs of pants/shorts for 3 months, but I knew I had to make myself do it.
