I've made a very important life decision-- I'm going to become a guinea pig. I got up early and went to do this economics experiment for David. The deal was: you and 9 other people get "farms" in a computer program (Farm #5 GOOO WHITEFISH!). Each farm has different water needs and allocations-- you make money by buying or selling water each round in relation to the "market". If you make good decisions, you make money for the farm, and therefore, money for yourself. We got $10 per session just for rocking up (3 sessions total) and the "game" is designed so that everyone can win another $30-$50. But not me. As David said when I walked up to get paid. "Adam... you blitzed it."
I took home $197 tax-free-- more than the three people I went with combined. It was mostly luck, but the best part is: they invited me back. Apparently, the government is funding all kinds of experiments like this on a variety of topics and they run games 2-3 days a week. I wouldn't make nearly that much again, but it's income, baby! Tax-free without having to put shoes on and serve lattes to assholes on lunch break from the CBD! So after that monster haul, I treated myself to pizza and wine (boxed, of course, I'm not the Pope).

The remaining $175 is going into a special fund. All income will go into there, and hopefully it will amount to enough to pay for a trip to Thailand in November, or at least a trip to Vegas when I get back. I'm not sure what I'll do with it, but I'd rather use my loan money for school, if possible, and use my guinea pig cash for fun things I would have blown my loan money on anyway. Psych experiments... Economics... Sociology... I hear the hospital pays people for medical testing... the possibilities are endless!
Ate pizza and lapsed into a food coma for two hours, then treated myself to a nip of Shiraz. Tomorrow should be a quiet, wine-fueled day of writing, cleaning and planning.
Drink Count: 4
If you noticed, those pictures were from today. I took more, but you don't get those yet-- who knows when I'll get around to taking more? Instead, enjoy the song below. I would give it the Grammy for "Best Laptop-Recorded Female Solo Indie-Cover Blog Performance Of The Year!" Truly, I would.
