Been sobering up for some time now. Started the day with the ever-exciting news that I'm being published. The University of Mary Washington in Virginia is starting a new literary journal under the direction of Claudia Emerson, 2006 winner of the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry and they chose one of my pieces. Not only that, they chose me as one of their "featured artists" to promo the journal before its publication (I still don't know if it will be purely electronic or not, but either way). So I started on some celebration wine at 2:40pm with Martina and progressed to a shot of brandy. Then a pizza was in order, and afterwards one shot of tequila mixed with one shot of southern comfort (not as bad as you'd think) followed by three shots of brandy before going out. Rohan's going away party was at this really awesome French wine bar called La Boheme, and from the time we arrived until the time we left he would not stop buying me drinks. Those included 4 "French Pussies", two beers and one glass of mixed wines (don't ask). Caught a cab home with Erin around midnight and got so turned around with my directions that the cabbie had to turn his meter off so as to not charge us a ridiculous amount for what should have been a five minute ride. Been working on the water since then, and looking forward to tomorrow. St. Patty's Day is a personal favorite of mine.
Drink Count: 14 (sounds like a lot (and it is), but in my defence (I used the british spelling, how cute is that?) that was over 10 hours.
Sleepy time now. After cornflakes. I really wish I had some god damn Cheerios. Night all. Enjoy this most awesome picture of all time.
