Quote of the day: "At least now we get to make the Guilt mixtape."
What a strange day. Got some very unexpected emails; had some unexpected dialogues. Discovered my most awesome dedicated computer lab on the 9th floor of Napier. Ran into Colby who demanded an afternoon trip to the British. Finally bought some cheese so I could make a killer ham sandwich for dinner, and otherwise hid inside. I think I'll be doing that strategically for a while, avoiding the porch and all that entails. Having not heard back from 2/3 of the people I asked for input on Banana Trees and hitting a brick wall with the other third, I said 'fuck it' and sent it off. I worked on the cliche story for a while (hereafter known as either Mercury or Till Human Voices Wake Us, depending). I'm going to write two versions, one serious and one silly, to see which one works better, but the serious one felt like the most pointless kind of melodrama so I went the funny route today. I think I succeeded, kind of, and hopefully two more drafts tomorrow will inspire in me enough confidence to read it aloud before hitting the UniBar and continuing to hide. This will be a caveman-type week, I'm thinking (by the way, has anyone heard that they're trying to turn those Geico cavemen into a sitcom? I think it would be hilarious for at least 5 episdoes until they run out of jokes, but man those would be good episodes). Drank wine compulsively this evening until I developed a stomach ache and decided water was a better choice. Ham and Burgundy would not be good coming back up; it'd look a little too much like I was barfing up pieces of my own liver.
Drink Count: 6
Oh, this one...
