8/25 Son-In-Law, Part II: Wherein Pauley Shore tells many a bad joke and stares longingly at Tiffany Amber Thiessen

Basically, I rode around Mayberry and surrounding country (no Opie to be found, sadly), first with Momma Country, then with Amanda, then with Brother Country, and saw paddock after paddock after paddock after paddock (you get it--3,000 acres worth of canola, barley and sheep) as well as the Main Street of Burra and the cemetery, which I was totally tricked into under the pretense that it was 'historical' so Momma Country could visit her brother's grave (awkward!!!). But I managed a decent amount of writing and researching on the novel idea, as well as a grip of reading. Big dinner of roast and potatoes and vegetables and beer and wine with Daddy Country and a dog sitting at my feet, tapping me with it's paw every once in a while just to remind me it was there. Dirty beast, if frighteningly smart.

I took absolutely no pictures of this place, to be honest-- if you've ever seen the Midwest, you've seen the farming areas of South Australia, and there's no need to share any of that action. No wild 'roos today though, which is horrifically disappointing. The massive spider in my room at night was no substitute.

Drink Count: 3
