5/9 Anniversary & the OCW & the Tassie lull

Firstly, I've been in this country 3 months today. That may not seem like a lot, but it's somewhere in the vicinity of a third of my overall commitment, which should excite certain people (namely my mother and Ms. Lewis). Secondly, I had Phillip read The Old Cartoon Writer for me in class today. Afterwards, he said "When this gets published-- and it will get published-- this will be a story that people remember" which is unbelievably awesome. Martina says it's the best thing I've written yet, so I'm back on my game. Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly to this limited audience, I'm leaving for Hobart, Tasmania, and eventually, Eaglehawk Neck, outside of Port Arthur, where my friend Joel has a shack and a boat and a cooler of beer and some friends who will be joining us for the weekend. What this means for you, Dear Readers, is that I won't be able to update for 4 days, but when I do, I'll be sure to update for each day individually so you don't miss out on any awesomeness and can enjoy my adventures in installments. I'm just hoping that movement will refill the inkwell, so to speak, which will enable me to get out at least one (hopefully as many three) decent stories in the next month to fulfill my semesterly obligation. Then all I have to worry about is next semester, which should be an adventure of epic proportions.

Had drinks and dinner at the Unibar after class-- three pints of Toohey's Old and some pretty decent (read: cheap) fish 'n chips-- followed by boxed wine and episodes of Futurama with the neighbors, a long conversation about stereotypes with the roomies, and packing up for tomorrow's adventure.
