6/20 AAA, Day 7: No luxury, no vice, no exquisite sin greater... than central air

Most interesting and excellent full-day bus tour of Efate, in which I got my first taste of sweet, sweet air-con in the otherwise morosely, oppressively humid tropics. The quick version, with pictures, goes like this:

Beautiful viewsIncredibly cool peopleThe legacy of WWII in the form of a million coke bottles (and a tank!)Fire walkingA Melanesian buffetSwimming in a ridiculous ocean
and I learned a lot of Vanuatu history and culture from the awesome tour guide William and slightly less from the ignorant slob Aussies and Kiwis who came with. People who visit countries without bothering to learn the name of the language they speak or what the people themselves are called should be expelled from said countries, sterilized, and sent home to live in isolation as to keep their dumb-fuckery from infecting anyone else. But they gave me both fiction and non-fiction fodder, so no complaints there. Dinner alone (Susan being strangely absent) and a new book on endangered languages.

Drink Count: 4

P.S. We almost killed the Prime Minister.
